Isaiah 55:6-7 (NLT), James 4:8 (NIV)
Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing
wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes,
turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. *Come near to God and
he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your
hearts, you double-minded.
our text above says we should call upon God now while He is near, it
means that God wants us to always
maximize every opportunity that we have to seek Him. Whenever there is
an opportunity or whenever our hearts are stirring us to seek God we
must not push off that desire to another time. That is the Holy Spirit
telling us that God is near or that God wants to do something both in
our lives and through our lives. It is always a great joy and privilege
to have the opportunity to spend time in sweet fellowship and communion
with God. Psalms 16:11 (NKJV) says “you will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures
forevermore.” As you rely on the Holy Spirit, this will continue to be
your experience in God's presence.
God also wants our minds to be continually renewed so that we can be
transformed into the fullness of Christ. We do not have to wait to get
into God's presence to repent and turn away from any wrong we have done.
The very moment we know that we have slipped or fallen, we must repent
immediately, receive God's forgiveness and turn away from that wrong.
God is always willing to have mercy upon us because of Christ and He
does not want us to be out of fellowship with Him for one moment. Always
run to God and never run away from God. Remain in close fellowship with
Him. The closer you are in fellowship with God the more He will lead you
into His will for your life and use you for His glory. As you grow in
fellowship with Him, you will know Him more and become more like Him.
PRAYER: I desire to always be in close fellowship with you O
Lord. Help me to always run to you and remain in close fellowship with
